Abstract
The effects of sucrose and fluoride about phosphorus translocation between enamel and Streptococcus mutans, using the radioisotope ^(32)P, were studied in this in vitro experiment.
The results were as follows;
1. Phosphorus translocation from enamel to Streptococcus mutans was remarkably increased in the presence of sucrose.
2. Phosphorus translocation from Streptococcus mutans to enamel was increased in the presence of fluoride.
3. Phosphorus translocation may have the importance of the correlation between carious process and anticarious process.
